Like many people, I used lockdown to catch up on outstanding projects. Along with a few collaborative art challenges – a painting every day on a given theme, a limerick competition (!) – I worked on a long-planned self-portrait. Entitled ‘Showing My Workings’, this large piece shows me in the process of building a collage portrait. I finished this during the second lockdown, adding the glue pot, scissors and a few other details. A corner of a previous self-portrait, ‘Red Shirt’, can be glimpsed reflected in the mirror.
I’m delighted to be showing at Sussex Art Fairs at Brighton Racecourse on the 11th – 13th October.
(Also, very nice to see Marilyn on the ivitations and publicity material!)
If you’d like PV tickets, please let me know, otherwise this digital flier will give you half price entry ove the weekend – just show it on your phone.
Please say hello if you’re around- I’ll be at stand 58b
The Tudor Pull- Gloriana at Hampton Court
Recently completed this collage of the Royal Barge Gloriana. I actually started it straight after the Hampton Court Palace piece in 2017, and had just the outline of the boat and a few details in, but ended up putting it aside. I discovered it again last month, and really enjoyed working on it again! This will be shown for the first time at the Landmark Art Fair in October.
Elizabeth James Gallery- Societies Collective Memory group show
Had a great time at the opening of this show at the EJ Gallery. Closes Tuesday 3rd September if you have time to get down!
Delighted to have Ferry Road collage featured on the cover of TW11 magazine this month. The original will be at Landmark Art Fair in October, along with limited edition prints.
